FAQ

How can you cover a whole life in such a short time?
We can’t, but we can focus on those areas of your life that you decide is the most important to be told and preserved for future generations.

But I think I would be too nervous in an interview.
Most people are a little nervous when sitting down for an interview; after all this is not something that many people have done before. But really when you think a little more about it all you will be doing is having a chat about your life story, answering questions that future generations will be so excited to learn about. The interview will be about you and you are the expert on that subject.

We are genuinely interested in helping you tell your story.  Soon into the interview you will forget the cameras are rolling and feel like you are just having a chat with a friend.

Can I have someone else there at the interview?
Yes you may have someone else at the interview location when we come to do the interview. We find however that the interview will be more relaxed and achieve a better outcome for you if when the actual interview takes place it is only you and the interviewee in the actual room where the interview is being conducted.

What if I say something I don’t want included?
It’s your story and you decide what you want included in it. Our interviewer will make a note at the time of the interview if you want anything removed. You will see a rough copy of your video before it’s completed to have an opportunity to make corrections or remove anything at that time.

Does My Story Remain Confidential?
We will always preserve professional confidentiality. Your information and story are kept confidential, and we will follow your instructions as to who has access to it.

Who owns the copyright to my story?
You are the author of your own story and you own the copyright to it. You decide how and when it is used.

What photos should I include?
Before the interview we will discuss the types of questions we will be asking and decide if there is particular time in your life you want to focus on.  Following that we will send you a list by email with ideas of the types of pictures you should have out and ready for the interview so we can scan them all at the conclusion of the interview.  We ask that you limit them to 30 or less.

What if some of my photos are in bad condition?
That’s okay, we will be scanning your photos with a scanner on the day of the interview and touch them up if needed.

How long does the process take?
From the time of the Life Story Interview to the time we deliver the final video is approximately 30 days or less.
