My regret became my mission
I was 31 when I learned my dad had terminal pancreatic
cancer. We lost him that same year. Five years later, my mom was diagnosed with
terminal blood cancer, and just nine months later, she was gone too. When planning her memorial, I realized I didn’t have a single video of either of them, just my mom’s voice on a tiny recorder and a partially filled-out "Grandma" book. Oh no there are so many questions I forgot to ask, I thought. That moment changed everything.
